Introduction

Hello and welcome to the "Death to Cancer" blog.

For those of you who know me from my Death to Diabetes book and website, some of the information in this blog will look very familiar to you. :-)

For those of you who don't know me, my name is DeWayne McCulley. I am an engineer who survived a near-death diabetic coma with a blood glucose level of 1337 (more than 1200 points above normal). I credit my recovery to God, my mother, my daughter Cynthia and my background in engineering science, cell biology and biochemistry.

Here I am speaking at a medical conference about my recovery from the coma:

Here I am speaking about my endocrinologist who told me that I would be back on insulin within 3 months. Today, I still don't require any medications:

I was fortunate to survive the coma and be able to use my 30 years of experience in engineering and biochemistry to defeat my diabetes and help other diabetics as a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association.

With support from several churches, my mother, and my daughter, I wrote the book, Death to Diabetes (which has helped thousands of diabetics around the world). This book explains my diabetes experience, the root causes of diabetes, and how to reverse the disease, based on research from 200+ clinical studies.

So, you may be asking what am I doing writing about cancer? Although cancer and Type 2 diabetes are different diseases with entirely different pathologies, it turns out that there are some similarities.

Because some of our diabetic clients didn't follow my Death to Diabetes Wellness Program, their diabetes got worse and, in some cases, they developed some form of cancer, usually from taking steroids or after some radical unnecessary surgery.

Because I knew nothing about cancer, I would usually recommend that they go back and talk to their doctors. Then, a year or so later, I found out that I had used poor judgement in telling them to go back to their doctors. You would think that I would know better, given what had happened to me during my diabetes recovery and coma episode.

So, I started to do some research into understanding how cancer develops in our bodies. I decided to follow the same process that I used when I was fighting my diabetes. I started by researching several key medical science areas , including pathophysiology, pathogenesis, etiology, epidemiology and cell biology -- with my focus on cancer.

Initially, this was a little difficult trying to do the research while still helping diabetics -- until I started to notice some interesting similarities between cancer and diabetes! It turned out that both diseases have some similar risk factors; and, both diseases are systemic and don't respond well to drugs but do respond very well to superior nutrition. For more details, refer to my post titled Cancer and Diabetes Similarities.

Even though there were some positive responses and feedback from some clients, I did not feel as comfortable talking about cancer as I do about diabetes. So, I decided to start collecting cancer-related information from various cancer experts and doctors who are involved in alternative treatment strategies, protocols, diets, wellness programs and cancer clinics from around the world.

I decided to begin collecting and storing this information because I realize how difficult it is to collect information and do your own research after just being diagnosed with cancer. It is very difficult trying to think straight with the clock ticking and figure out what to do about this life-threatening disease.

Unfortunately, many cancer patients make poor decisions early on because they feel presured by their doctor and since most people are unaware that there are effective and safe alternative treatments, they opt for the toxic and mostly ineffective chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. In fact, I was shocked to find out that conventional medical cancer treatments haven't made much progress in over 50 years and that their success rate is less than 5%!!!

Now, since I am obviously not a cancer expert, I have listed the majority of the websites that I used to write this blog.  I also used my knowledge of disease pathology, pathogenesis, cell biology, biochemistry and nutritional science to develop some PowerPoint slides, graphs, diagrams and charts and wellness strategies. And, now I am packaging this into a Death to Cancer ebook that I am currently updating -- because of all of the new information I uncovered during my research.

I have put together this information from various medical doctors and cancer experts involved in alternative medicine and cancer research. Hopefully, this information will give you a head start with your own research and provide some insight into how to fight your cancer and improve your health.

If you have an open mind and are willing to make the necessary dietary and lifestyle changes, it is likely that you can live a long and healthy life and without being dependent on toxic cancer drugs.

When I was diabetic, I assumed that my doctors were the experts and would save my life. Initially, my doctors did save my life when I was in the coma. But, as I began to recover from the coma, the benefits of injecting myself with insulin 4 to 5 times a day along with the blood thinners, statins and other drugs, I found myself facing a possible double-leg amputation, blindness, kidney failure, and a possible pulmonary embolism or a stroke.

I realized that I needed to make some drastic changes. And, thanks to my mother and my daughter, I was successful. And, when I returned to work, everyone was shocked that I had figured out how to wean off the insulin and other drugs.

It turned out that some of my co-workers or their spouse were also diabetic. And, when they followed my diet suggestions, many of them were able to reduce their medications and some even were able to get off their medications completely!

Then, various community groups and churches began inviting me to come speak and share my story. The next thing I knew, I was running two diabetic support groups, one for a local church and one for the American Diabetes Association.

Eventually, I ended up writing a book (Death to Diabetes) because my mother told me that God saved my life so that I would be able to help other diabetics. At the time, I didn't really believe my mother. But, here we are more than 10 years later, and it turns out that my mother was right!

Because of the success of my book, diabetics kept coming back and asking more information. For example, they wanted a meal planner, a cookbook and a juicing book. I resisted initially, but, finally gave in and wrote a 90-day meal planner, a 300-page cookbook and a 110-page juicing book.

Over the past several years, I have written more than 35 books/ebooks,  10 CDs/DVDs and 20 MP3 downloads about diabetes, along with an online diabetes training program for Diabetics.

I've also written an online health coaching training program for naturopathic doctors and other healthcare professionals who want to help diabetics in their communities.

What Should You Do?
Because of all the conflicting information out there about cancer, diabetes and other diseases, I strongly recommend that you educate yourself about your disease and nutrition, at the minimum.  Also, try to find a cancer expert in your area that works with cancer patients, understands various aspects of alternative medicine, and has a good track record.

Now, I realize that this is probably what you didn't want to hear, so I apologize for that.  But, I was just like you -- I believed that since I was paying my doctor, then, it was his responsibility and his job to help me with my health.

But, being in the hospital for 13 days, I learned very quickly that even though the doctors (along with the nurses) saved my life, they were limited in what they could do to help me when the insulin and other medications began to lose some of their effectiveness.

If you don't like to read or do research, ask your partner -- he or she may be better equipped to help you, especially if they like to read and/or research. Also, if you don't have a lot of energy, you will need help from your support team to provide you with the knowledge you need to fight your disease.

Another option is to sign up for one of our online training classes; or, find a local or online naturopathic doctor or holistic professional via a referral from a friend or family member who you trust with your life.

Note: If you're not familiar with my work, then, before you sign up for a training class, feel free to call our toll-free number and talk to us so that you'll understand what we offer and how we can help and also what are our limitations. In the meantime, you can review some of the information on this blog about cancer-fighting nutrition and nutritional supplementation for people with cancer. There is also nutritional and other information about what to do even if you have already had chemotherapy.

If you want, you can also take a look at my Death to Diabetes website about nutrition, super foods, raw juicing, green smoothies, and meal planning. Although the information on my website is primarily for Type 2 diabetics, many of my nutritional principles also apply to people with cancer, with some slight modifications.

In fact, believe it or not, Type 2 diabetes and cancer have some surprising similarities that have given me some insight and helped me to understand cancer to some degree [Refer to my post, titled "Cancer and Diabetes Similarities"]. Because of this insight, I have been able to create some flow charts and diagrams about cancer that I use in our online training classes.

Whatever you do, I suggest that you don't rely strictly on your doctor as your only source for making life and death decisions. When you go buy a car, you don't rely on what a single car dealership tells you -- you check out at least one or two other car dealerships before you make your decision. And, how many times, did you discover that the first offer wasn't always the best offer? See what I mean?

FYI: For those of you who really want to learn a lot about disease, then, here are some areas of science to do your research: cell biology, pathology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, etiology, and biochemistry, just to name a few of the many areas of medical science.

Because of my experience with diabetes, doctors, hospitals and drugs, I encourage you to educate yourself as much as possible about cancer, diabetes or whatever disease you have.  Once I acquired the knowledge, I knew what specific questions to ask my doctors. I also realized from some of their answers, that they were limited in their knowledge about nutrition and alternative therapies.

In addition, the knowledge that I acquired (and continue to acquire) helped with healthcare professionals involved in alternative medicine. I learned that there are quite a few people involved in alternative care who know very little about medical science -- some of them tend to rely on pseudo science.

I know this can be very frustrating, trying to figure out who to listen to or to follow for advice. But, the more you learn, the easier all of this becomes.

Why You Haven't Heard of Me
I have tried to get on television, but TV is controlled by pharmaceutical industry, who doesn't want the public to learn the truth about nutrition. So, at this time, the only way to spread the word and save lives is with a grassroots movement -- so please forward this link to anyone who may benefit.

And, if you want to help even more, then share this blog and our posts with your friends; and, use other tools to spread the word, e.g. referrals, the telephone, email, Skype, the Internet, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, other social media platforms, etc.

Take care ...

Sincerely,
DeWayne McCulley
